Wishing you all a successful football season,

Hills Hawks Football Club Committee

We've had another great season at Hills Hawks Football Club thanks to our great volunteer Coaches, Managers, our Committee and most importantly our people and players.
We all live and in great part of Sydney and we have an awesome footy club, with great people and great sponsors.
Good luck to all our competition teams competing in finals this weekend, I'll try to get to as many of them as possible. Good luck also to our Premier League Reserves team competing in their Semi-final at Christie Park at 5pm this Saturday.
I won't be around for the Coaches / Managers upcoming get together at the Glenorie Club but see if you can go along for a couple of drinks and celebrate your efforts for the club this season with our club committee. I will however, see all our team’s players, coaches, managers and parents at our Presentation Day at the Glenorie Club downstairs on the 15th of September.
For those I don't see there I wish you a great Summer and Xmas break and look forward to seeing you all down at Hayes Park Next Season.
With our Association now merging with the North West Women's Association as of October next season we will be playing under a new association name called North West Sydney Football (NWSF). This great merger will make it a lot easier to nominate all ladies/girls teams for our club as of next season so there should be thought given to this now to round up players ready for the new 2020 season.
Don't forget to get in early for registrations opening at the beginning of January 2020.
And also don't Forget " GO HAWKIES "

Hills vs Redfield

A fantastic effort by our under 6 green, on a very cold day for football.
Being school holidays, a 4 man Hawkes team went up against a strong opposition.
At half time it was a score of 2-1 to the opponent side. Ruby, scoring an amazing goal starting from her own goal line and beating three defenders on the way!
The second half saw some great defending efforts and a break away goal attempt by Flynn, sadly stopped just short by the opposition.
A very hard fought 40 minutes by under 6 greens, In a result of 4 - 1 to the away team.
Great effort.
Congratulations to Ruby for this weeks player of the week!
And congratulations to the team all round for team of the week!

Excitement Plus!!

Wow today was exciting - in arctic conditions brrrrrr.
West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook only had 3 players - our awesome little Mav & Levi volunteered to play for them. Such sportsmanship.
So we were cheering on Hawks and West Pennant Hills with Mav and Levi in their team.

Again today our boys were really passing well and some fantastic goals were scored from excellent passes.

Great attacking from Levi, Kane, Arjen and Hayden.
Excellent passing from Kane, Hayden and Mav.

Mason wasn't well today but while he was on the field he was great in defence and kicked well.
Mav had a few attempts at goal and just missed those goals by centimetres.
Mav was everywhere he needed to be on the field when he played for Hawks and the same when he played a half for West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook.

Levi scored 4 goals today and Kane scored 3 goals.

Congratulations Mav on receiving Player of the Week.

Windy Saturday!

It was a very windy Saturday! The team did well passing to each other and retaining the diamond shape. It was a good game with goals being scored one after the other, the opposition did very well and were strong to the end.

A big thank you to Ruby from U6 and Tyler from U7 Green for helping us out today!
This weeks player of the week went to Maggie who never gave up and gave it her all.

A Tight Match

Yellow As had their gaming cut out for them running with only 6 players for the game. Our defense in the 1st half was strong, with Thornleigh just breaking through in the last minutes of 1st 1/2 to score the 1st of the match. 2ns half Yellow As came out fighting working like clockwork to score 2 goals & taking the lead. Thornleigh proved too strong on the day, with a last minute goal - just beating us 3-2! Great effort boys!

Hills vs Thornleigh

Unfortunate loss with a close game. Ruby showed some great skills, running up the length of the field and scoring a great goal. Everyone put in a good effort and their skills are improving each week.
Liam is showing amazing balls skills each week and was awarded player of the week. Well done Liam.

Sunny Saturday!

Great day for a game and team were excited to get on the field to show off their skills they learnt this year.

Hills vs Pennant Hills

Our Hawks team showed some great defence and put a lot of pressure on the opposition this week. Pennant Hills were a great team with good soccer skills. Flynn T cleared away some goals, and everyone ran back to put pressure on the other team. Shaun tried hard to dribble up the field and was awarded player of the week. Great game to watch and an unfortunate loss.

Happy Birthday Harry!

It was a great to be out and about on the soccer field, the team in such a great effort. The opposition gave our team a great challenge.

The team tried their best and scored 3 goals.

It was a big happy birthday to Harry today, the team did so well they were all player of the week, and they all had a cupcake to celebrate Harry's Birthday.

Thank you to Colin for stepping in as coach today :-)

No Subs Struggles

The Redbacks this season have always been a tough team to conquer, and Saturday's game seem to follow the same suit. With no subs available for Yellow As, the team had their work cut out for them. Best team plays were put forward, however Redbacks defence was just too hard to break through with no goals scored by Yellow As - Tough game & they gave it their best shot!

Win(1-0) against West Ryde Rovers FC

Having to contend with the crazy winds and being down 2 players, we still managed a WIN! We also are still in the TOP 4! We had a nil-all first half, after numerous attempts at goal. In the second half, a pass from Jordan to William, and a goal! Once again, numerous attempts, but the goalie from West Ryde Rovers was on point today. A brilliant game and everyone gave their all! Thanks to Brett Lewer for being referee for the game and Ian Colley for being Linesman. Looking forward to Round Robin to commence. Lots of training before hand with Gavin and Brett. No game next week as we have a bye!
