It was great to see our season finally kick off last weekend and I hope everyone had a great day, especially those who are new to the sport and Hills Hawks FC.

We are lucky to have a great bunch of volunteer Coaches, Managers and Committee members to help run the club throughout the season.  After saying that, we also need the help of parents, carers and players from time to time.  Some of the areas we need your help are:

FIELD SET UP
If your team is the first scheduled game at Hayes Park or Arcadia Oval, you will be responsible for the set-up of the field.  These games are anywhere between 8.30am and 9.30am so please the check draw.  Our web-site has links to the GHFA draw if you are unsure if there is a game before you.  We also send out emails reminding teams of their set-up and pack-up requirements. If you are on set-up, we recommend you allow at least ¾ hour prior to the commencement of the game.  It is the parent’s responsibility to do this so the Coach, Manager and players can get prepared for the game.

Just a reminder that even though Hills Hawks emails you when games are cancelled due to wet weather or if games are relocated for any reason, it is always a good idea to check the GHFA website for any changes on Friday night.

BBQ ROSTER
We roster on each team for 1 ½ hours on the BBQ throughout the season.  This is a job we ask the parents to undertake as the Managers and Coaches already do a wonderful volunteering job. We never ask you to do the BBQ whilst your child is playing and it is a great way to meet new people or get to know other parents in your team.

CLUB JERSEYS
It is Club policy that the Hills Hawks jerseys are given out at the beginning of the game and collected by the Manager at the end of the game and washed together.  The Manager will then ask each parent to take turns in washing these jerseys and return them to training, not brought back on game day.
Whilst the Club understands there are a few exceptions to this policy we advise that this is Club policy and must be strictly adhered to.  Under no circumstances do we want to see players wearing their jerseys around the fields or at the shops after their game.  As you can appreciate, the jerseys are the biggest cost to the club and we can only keep the cost of your registration down by prolonging the life of the jerseys.

Thank you for being part of the Hills Hawks Football Club.  It is only because of the support of all Volunteers (what-ever your capacity) that we are able to run such a strong, friendly Club.
A reminder that our next kick off commences on Saturday 22nd April, 2017.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy Easter break.
Kind regards,

Ian Robertson
Club President
